There’s been a horror crash at Mullumbimby in the state’s north, with an elderly woman killed when the car she was driving collided head on with another vehicle around midday.
Two others were airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition, while the elderly woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Initial investigations suggest a westbound vehicle crossed to the wrong side of Mullumbimby Road and struck the woman’s car.
Mullumbimby Road is expected to remain closed for several hours.
