Here’s Georgina Smyth with a news update:

• Australia’s highest court has reinstated Gerard Baden-Clay’s murder conviction for killing his wife, Allison. A Queensland jury convicted Baden Clay of murder in 2014, but the state’s court of appeal last year downgraded it to manslaughter. Baden Clay now has no further avenues of appeal, he will continue to serve his life sentence.
• There have been bizarre scenes on a beach in Bali, where an Australian mother and her British boyfriend have re-enacted the bashing death of a police officer. More than 40 separate scenes were acted out by the pair, with a Balinese officer playing the victim and witnesses playing themselves.
• And US rapper Chris Brown has been arrested after a more than 12 hour standoff with LA Police – sparked by him allegedly threatening a woman with a gun.
