The Baird Government has released a revised design for the M1 Hexham bypass.
The plan centres around a new dual carriageway bridge being built between Tarro and Tomago.
But the state says the project requires a sizeable federal contribution to get off the ground.
“It is a bit of a milestone today that we’re moving on with some of that concept and moving closer to that. But this is not the end by any stretch of the imagination. We’ve still got plenty of work to do.”
The RMS is asking for feedback on the plan.
