BOY BEING TREATED FOR DOG BITE

An eight-year-old boy is being treated for a suspected fractured forearm and bite marks, after being bitten by a dog in Edgeworth.
The boy was walking along a paddock on Lyons Close at about 3.10pm on Sunday, when he reached under the side of a fence and was bitten by a dog on the other side.
The boy is receiving treatment in John Hunter Hospital.
The dog owner and police are helping Lake Macquarie Council with their inquiries.
