OMEARA’S BRIDGE REPAIRS BEGIN

Work to repair Omeara’s bridge at Binna Burra, is underway.

Damaged by storms earlier this year, the crossing has been closed to traffic since July.

The temporary repairs should be complete, and the bridge reopened, by late September.

Byron Council plans to replace the 85-year-old crossing with a sturdier steel span, later this financial year.
