WEATHER: RARE AUGUST RAIN

PHOTO: Dangar Falls Dorrigo captured by Owen Mowle.

Significant inland rain falling during the month of August is hard to come by. Yesterdays falls of 30 to 40mm stretching from Wee Waa to Narrabri, Tamworth to Nowendoc was the best for the month in about 13 years and there is plenty more to come.

This is a significant rain event building over QLD before crossing the border into north eastern NSW. A low will form just off the coast and more rain will be drawn in over the Greater Hunter. It is also going to be very cold with possible snow for the Barringtons and northern NSW ranges of Thursday night and Friday. Conditions will ease by Sunday.
