STUDENTS TO GO ‘OLD SCHOOL’ IN STATE MATHS COMPETITION
More than 2000 primary students across the north coast will take part in one of the largest regional maths competitions in the state tomorrow.
Today, students at Taree West Public School were busy with last-minute study.
“The competition has a variety of activities that can encourage creative thinking and problem solving. And we get feedback so we can look at the results with the children and can see where they are sitting.”
The annual Newcastle Permanent Primary Schools Maths Competition puts children to the test – by not letting them use calculators or any other mathematical instruments.
