SECURITY GUARDS UNDERPAID AT JOYOUS OCCASION
An investigation into the work of security guards, hired during Tamworth’s Country Music Festival, has revealed at least ten employees were underpaid.
According to the Fair Work Ombudsman, the casual workers, employed as crowd control management throughout the festival, were paid at a rate one third less than what they should have been – for night, overtime and weekend work.
The largest individual underpayment was more than $1200.
