• The Rio Olympics has drawn to a colourful and spectacular end with the closing ceremony held at the main stadium.
• There was relief for nine Australian athletes who’ve have had their passports given back after they were fined for using altered accrediations. Australia was forced to pay $37,000 in fines to get the athlete’s passports back so they could fly home with the rest of the team.
• The boyfriend of Byron Bay woman Sara Connor says she was attacked by a “bad cop” in Bali before their arrests over a police officer’s death.
• A daredevil has taken extreme Sports to a whole new level by sky-surfing through a lightning storm.
• And hundreds of star-struck fans have crammed footpaths in Brisbane’s CBD to catch a glimpse of Hollywood stars Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston on the set of the latest Thor film.
