TAMWORTH TIES UP HORSE EVENT RECORD

Despite Australia’s top equestrian riders away competing at the Rio Olympics, Tamworth’s International Event has boasted record numbers over the weekend.
Nearly 400 riders took to the equestrian centre to compete in the event, which included dressage, showjumping and cross country phases.
Eight competitors tackled the three star level – the jumps boasting the same dimensions as the Olympic obstacles.
“Absolutely fantastic, we’re getting such a good lot of support now with this event as we’ve been building it, it’s great to see the riders support us,” said president Carolyn Campbell.
