The body of a young woman believed to be in her early twenties has been retrieved from the surf at Arrawarra near Coffs Harbour.
Emergency services were called to the beach shortly before two this afternoon, but the woman was unable to be revived.
A police spokesperson said they are treating the incident as a possible drowning.
