Newcastle police are hunting a man who injured a woman while trying to steal her bag on Thursday.
The 57-year-old woman was walking along Shepherd’s Place in Newcastle when she was approached from behind.
The man tried to grab her bag and after a short struggle, the woman fell to the ground, hitting her head.
Her attacker ran toward Newcastle’s Foreshore.
Police are appealing for witnesses and looking for a man in his 30s, with long brown hair curly shoulder-length hair, wearing a white t-shirt with red stripes and dark tracksuit pants.
