A former scripture teacher will likely spend the rest of his life behind bars for abusing 21 boys.
84-year-old Donald Greenaway has been sentenced to at least 15 years behind bars.
He abused boys as a young five, in offences dating back to the 1960s – many of them committed at Woodlands Boys’ Home at Wallsend.
Today a Newcastle District Court judge described Greenaway’s behaviour as “evil” and “despicable”.
