BALLINA UNITING CHURCH TO RE-OPEN ITS DOORS
Parishioners of Ballina’s historic Uniting Church can’t wait to worship inside it once again, come Sunday.
The congregation was forced out 14 months ago, after learning the century-old structure was in danger of collapsing.
Recently completed structural repairs have since saved it from demolition, allowing church leaders to re-open its doors.
“We’ve had an enormous amount of response from the community themselves and how relieved they were to know the church will remain standing for the time being.”
“We’re having our first service back this Sunday at 9 o’clock and all are welcome.”
While safe, the building still requires a quarter-of-a-million dollars worth of work.
