LAKE AINSWORTH UPGRADES TO GO AHEAD

Proposed upgrades to the Lake Ainsworth precinct will go ahead as planned, despite strong community opposition.

Ballina Shire Council voted in favour of proceeding with the project, seven votes to three at today’s meeting.

“I just ask people who are opposed to councils moves, to actually go onto the website, have a look at the concept plan, see the improvements that are going there… And then imagine how great it will be.”

The road on the lake’s eastern bank will now ripped up and the space converted into a park, with additional parking spaces added nearby.
