Disappointment for Hunter riders Jason Doyle and Sam Masters with Australia finishing last in the Speedway World Cup final.
Doyle’s night was full of dramas.
He lost a steel shoe in one of his early heats, and was disqualified later in the event, following an incident.
Masters found the going just as tough, finishing fourth in several races.
But he still had a few reasons to celebrate.
“What a ride from Sam Masters … that was inspired.”
Poland went on to win the title, outclassing Great Britain and Sweden.
