TRAFFIC LIGHTS FOR DANGEROUS CROSSING
Plans are underway to upgrade a dangerous pedestrian crossing on one of Port Macquarie’s busiest roads.
Council has drawn up designs for the installation of traffic lights on Hastings River Drive, near the Aston Street intersection.
“From a safety perspective, pedestrian crossings across dual lanes are no longer supported by RMS, and ultimately works in the Settlement City precinct area require Aston Street to be upgraded,” Infrastructure and Asset Management Director Jeffery Sharp said.
Council has yet to secure funding for the project, which is expected to cost up to $3 million.
