A local community group has been issued an eviction notice after more than 60 years of managing the MacMaster’s Beach Progress Hall.
A new license agreement for the tiny hall would seen rent increased and require the association to double its public liability insurance.
They say requests for a meeting with Central Coast Council have fallen on deaf ears.
“We’ve asked to meet with them but they haven’t agreed to that and we’ve had just very discourteous letters replying from them saying they’ve considered our situation and there’s no exemption.”
The group will vacate the premises next month
