A woman had to be treated for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out on the balcony of her third-floor unit in Newcastle last night.
Firefighters arrived at the Wharf Road apartment block at about 6:30, where they found outdoor furniture well alight.
Crews managed to contain the blaze quickly.
