TWEED POLICE SIGN ACTION PLAN

A new action plan has been signed between the New South Wales Police Force and Aboriginal people of the Tweed.

It’s designed to enhance relationships with what has been identified as a vulnerable sector of the community.

“It’s a very good plan … Over the years there’s been a lot of conflict between young aboriginal people and the police”
“We would also expect if they become aware of incidents that should be reported to police, that they would follow through and report those incidents to police.”

The main objective is to reduce the number of Aboriginal people in prison.
