REWARD INCREASED AS PART OF INVESTIGATION INTO ARMIDALE MAN
Police have upped the ante in their search for an Armidale man who vanished 23 years ago, with the reward increased to $100,000.
William Roach was last seen on Grafton Road at Armidale on New Year’s Eve in 1993.
Strike Force Annan has been examining the circumstances surrounding Mr Roach’s disappearance since 2003.
A coronial inquest in 2010 found he had been killed.
Deputy Premier Troy Grant has approved an increase in the reward from $50,000 to 100,000, for information which leads to the location of Mr Roach.
“Mr Roach’s family deserve to know what happened to him. They have waited long enough for answers about his disappearance,” said Mr Grant.
Acting Inspector Stuart Gray from New England Local Area Command hopes the reward could help solve the investigation.
“I’d urge anyone with information, regardless of how insignificant you think it may be, to come forward,” he said.
Police are following several lines of inquiry and earlier this year, they searched a property on the outskirts of Armidale.
