NEW RESCUE VESSEL MAKES A SPLASH IN TAREE
It was out with the old and in with the new for Port Macquarie’s Marine Rescue today, as the unit launched its new 38-foot marine rescue vessel in Taree.
The boat replaces the unit’s old one, which was built nearly 20 years ago.
“What you’re looking at here is the newest state-of-the-art rescue vessel, fully equipped with everything that’s going to help us save lives on the water, a really big deal for our unit.”
The rescue boat will be doing sea trials on the Manning River over the next two weeks, before it’s delivered up the coast.
