FORMER HAWKS COACH TO STAND TRAIL

Former Forster-Tuncurry Hawks coach Troy Hilder has been committed to stand trial at Newcastle District Court, over alleged drug supply offences.

The 38-year-old was arrested earlier this year, as part of an extensive covert police investigation.

He remains on bail, while a date for the trial is yet to be set.

Meanwhile, retired captain-coach of the Taree City Bulls and alleged drug dealer, Dean Simpson, remains in custody.

He’ll next face court in September.
