A humpback whale has put on a show at Bar Beach in Newcastle today.
The whale, heading north on its annual migration, was seen playing in water just off the viewing platform and giving a wave to onlookers.
Marine mammal rescue organisation, ORRCA says the whale is pectoral fin slapping, a common behaviour shown by the majestic giants.
