A rescue mission unfolded on the Far North Coast today, as a team of marine experts tried to capture a dolphin which appears to be trapped in a Ballina Lake.
National Parks and Wildlife Services, together with Seaworld, Southern Cross University and the RSPCA made several failed attempts to catch the inshore bottlenose dolphin.
There’s concern the animal might not be able to get out the way it swam in.
Another attempt will be made in the coming days.
