DEPUTY PM OFFICIALLY RETAINS SEAT

The Deputy Prime Minister has officially beaten rival Tony Windsor, with the AEC today announcing he’s retained the seat of New England.
Barnaby Joyce met with the New England Returning Officer, at Armidale, to hear the good news and result of the votes counted first-hand.
“The votes I’ve listed are not necessarily the final figures for each candidate… I anticipate there are still 6848 votes still to be received in my office to be counted.”
Mr Joyce sits on 53,530, 15,927 more than rival Tony Windsor.
