INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT INJURES MAN

A man is recovering in hospital, after 2 tonnes of steel girders fell onto his legs at a South Murwillumbah industrial estate this morning.

The 60 year old was treated by paramedics and Westpac Rescue Helicopter staff at the scene.

He was then airlifted to the Gold Coast University Hospital where he remains in a stable condition, with extensive fractures to both his legs.
