DEBATE OVER HISTORIC KURRI KURRI HOTEL ROOF

A Cessnock councillor has accused his own council of having double standards, for allowing the roof of a heritage hotel to be demolished.

James Ryan claims on the same night fellow councillors allowed the owners of the Chelmsford Hotel to rip up its slate roof, they voted in favour of council’s Heritage Policy.

Councillor Ryan says it’s a shame the heritage hotel’s roof will be replaced with steel, simply because it’s cheaper.
