At least four police officers are dead and seven others have been injured after snipers opened fire ambush style on police during a protest over recent fatal shootings in the US.
The shooting in Dallas began while hundreds of people were gathered to protest the shooting of two black men, one in Louisiana and the other in Minnesota.
Dallas Police Chief David Brown says 11 officers have been shot, four of them fatally, while two are in surgery and three are in a critical condition.
