Shark tagging efforts off Ballina reached a small but significant milestone this morning, with the Department of Primary industries tagging its 25th shark.
Caught using a smart drumline, this 3 metre long great white will now be detectable by VR4G listening stations.
Another shorter animal, measuring 2.7 metres, was also captured, tagged and released a short time later.
