A 20-year-old man has appeared in court after another man was shot on the Central Coast last night.
Just before 7pm, police and emergency services responded to reports of a shooting at Tirriki Close in Buff Point, near Wyong.
Shorty after police arrived, a 21-year-old man presented at Wyong Hospital with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was subsequently airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.
Investigations suggest an altercation took place between two groups of people outside a home before the man was shot.
A 20-year-old man was arrested at the scene. He was later charged with discharging a firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
