HIGH STAKES HOLD-UP AT LAKE MACQUARIE

Police at Lake Macquarie are appealing for witnesses after an armed robbery at Teralba this morning.
About 10am, a woman was driving a white Commodore utility north along Racecourse Road, Teralba, when she noticed a gold-coloured Lexus four-wheel-drive parked on the opposite side of the road.
As the utility drew nearer, the four-wheel-drive pulled onto the road and veered into the north-bound lane.
The woman steered the utility onto the grass embankment to avoid a collision, after which the Lexus rammed her vehicle in the driver-side door.
The male driver of the Lexus jumped out and demanded money.
A second sedan carrying three people pulled up behind the utility.
A man got out of this car and joined the Lexus driver, threatening the woman with a weapon.
The woman handed over a bag containing a sum of cash before the two men got into the Camry and drove away north along Racecourse Road.
This vehicle was found a short time later burnt out in Charlton Street, Barnsley.
The woman was treated for injuries suffered in the initial collision.
Police believe the the two cars used in the stick-up were stolen.
