Byron Bay’s Winter Whales swimming club has handed out $50,000 to local charities and community groups in need.
The money was raised at the club’s 29th annual ocean swim classic, held in the waters off Cape Byron in May.
Since the event began, the club has donated over three quarters of a million dollars.
