WINDS PROVE A CHALLENGE AT WINGHAM GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

Local golfers Katrina Greenaway and Rod Desborough have taken out Wingham’s Mixed Foursome Championship, with a combined score of 127.

Not far behind in the 27-hole tournament were club captains Neville Blanch and Denise Polly, whose score of 129 wasn’t helped by westerly winds.

“We had a fairly good front 9 but going fairly ordinary at the back, but I think most would be struggling out there today it’s not that nice,” Neville Blanch says.

Around 50 players took part in the club’s annual event.
