OURIMBAH BOARDING HOUSE DEVELOPMENT IN LIMBO

The future of a boarding house development in Ourimbah remains in limbo after a mediation between residents, council and the Land and Environment court commissioner failed to reach an agreement yesterday.
The development has caused controversy since it was introduced in 2013- with opponents claiming it doesn’t fit with the character of the town.
“we would have hoped that the conciliation wouldn’t have resulted in anything and it would have gone to the full hearing before the land and environment court now neither party is keen to do that because it is a costly exercise but we believe we’ve got a very strong case,” Glen Road Action Group spokesperson Allan Benson said.
The group says the conciliation hearings have now been adjourned until 12th September.
