NEW HOPE FOR INGHAM WORKERS
There’s new hope for dozens of the 360 Ingham’s workers, set to lose their jobs when the Cardiff plant closes in August.
The Meat Workers Union is in discussions with rival poultry processor Baiada, to find work at its Beresfield or Tamworth sites for skilled employees.
There’s also been an offer of jobs at the JBS red meat processing plant in Scone.
The union says, so far, 85 Ingham’s employees have shown interest in working at Baiada, and it’ll continue talks to secure as many jobs as possible.
