A 37-year-old Tamworth woman has been airlifted in a critical condition to John Hunter Hospital, at Newcastle, after being stuck down by a ute.
Emergency services responded to the incident on the New England Highway, in Tamworth, at about six o’clock last night.
The 50-year-old male driver of the ute was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
Police are now investigating what caused the accident.
