The Minister also officially handed over the keys to a new state-of-the-art fire truck and command vehicle at Alphadale, during his visit to the region.
The $192,000 truck will be stationed at the Rural Fire Service in Nimbin.
The command vehicle is expected to be used across the Northern Rivers.
