INVESTIGATIONS CONTINUE INTO CESSNOCK JAIL FIRE

Two maximum security inmates remain in a critical condition at Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital.

The pair were flown to hospital with serious burns, after being rescued from their cell after 20 fire fighters responded to the blaze.

Five correctional officers have been treated for smoke inhalation, and one staff member was treated for burns to his arm.

Multi-agency investigations are continuing.
