GREENS PUT FORWARD PLANS FOR WILLIAMTOWN CONTAMINATION

Off the back of Labor’s announcement last weekend, The Greens have come forward with its plans for dealing with the Williamtown RAAF contamination.
It’s calling for the ‘red zone’ to be redrawn, in the wake of new – lower – drinking water guidelines for PFOs and PFOA contamination, released by the U-S Environmental Protection Agency.
“It’s essential these new guidelines are adopted because it’s much safer, it’s more a responsible approach to the community,” said Greens Senator Lee Rhiannon.
The Greens would also like blood testing introduced for affected residents.
“They need to have health tests done on a regular basis, they need to have compensation offered to them right now,” said Greens Candidate for Paterson, John Brown.
