AFFORDABLE HOUSING DEMAND RISES

Construction of a new not-for-profit unit complex began today, which will help cater to the growing need for affordable housing on the Northern Tablelands.
The $2.1-million project will see six specially-designed units built for low income earners or those living with a disability.
“The social and affordable housing waiting lists are in the hundreds in Armidale so yeah there’s a high demand, particularly for units that are fully adaptable.”
It’s hoped the new tenants will be able to move in by the end of the year.
