LISMORE TAXI DRIVER CHARGED WITH INDECENTLY ASSAULTING PASSENGER
A taxi driver who entered the Lismore home of a female passenger and allegedly indecently assaulted her has been charged in relation to the incident.
On the evening of Saturday, May 28, two women caught a taxi from a Lismore nightclub.
One of the women was dropped off at a home on Keen street, before returning the second passenger to Lismore CBD.
After leaving the second woman, the taxi allegedly returned to the Keen Street address, where the 46-year-old male driver entered the property and allegedly indecently assaulted the 18-year-old female.
As a result of police investigations, the taxi driver was arrested and charged with committing a serious indictable offence, and indecent assault on Wednesday.
He was granted strict conditional bail, and will appear in court on 18 July.
