BULGA RESIDENTS MEET WITH RIO TINTO

Bulga residents have met with mining giant Rio Tinto, just days after withdrawing their legal fight against a mine expansion.
The group sat down with Rio board members today, following the approval of the company’s Mount Thorley Warkworth plans.
“We’d like to feel like we have some voice, we haven’t had a voice apart from in the Land and Environment court, so yes it was a positive thing and we would like to have dialogue,” says Judith Leslie from the Bulga Residents Association.
Rio Tinto says it’s committed to ensuring a strong future for the village, and will continue to engage with the Bulga community.
