Armidale’s SES unit is set to receive a brand new flood rescue boat.
15 will be delivered across the state to protect communities dealing with emergency situations.
The custom-built vessels will be strong enough to cart water and food, as well as quad bikes so farmers can care for livestock in flood-isolated areas.
They’re also fitted with a GPS system and aluminium propellers.
The new fleet is worth nearly $850,000.
