PIGS RACE AT ALSTONVILLE FUN DAY

The fate of punters lay with a pack of pigs in Alstonville today; piglet racing headlining the historic village’s Family Fun Day.

A six-strong field of the animals contested several events, including a hurdles track – spectators wagering on whose snout would be first to the trough.

The main street was also closed – making way for market stalls, a jumping castle and kids attractions.
