TEENS CHARGED OVER ATTEMPTED CHARLESTOWN ROBBERY

A pair of male teenagers have been charged after an alleged robbery attempt in Charlestown last weekend.

Just before 5pm last Sunday, an 18-year-old man was walking along Charlestown Road when he was approached by the two teens – aged 15 and 17.

The 15-year-old allegedly demanded the man’s phone and wallet.

The victim tried to flee, but was allegedly assaulted, before he was eventually able to escape. He was later treated for minor injuries.

Following an investigation a 15-year-old boy was charged in relation to the incident on Monday.

Then on Friday, the 17-year-old was also charged.

They will appear separately in Children’s Court over the coming weeks.
