Police are investigating, following two suspicious fires in bushland where a large flying fox colony resides at Cessnock.
The most recent incident occurred at around 2:30 this morning near Long Street and Old Maitland Road, while another fire was lit on Saturday.
The site is near homes and is notorious for a colony of between 40,000 and 60,000 bats.
