FIRST MIDCOAST COUNCIL MEETING SHUT DOWN

The first meeting of the merged MidCoast Council has descended into chaos, after noisy protesters refused to let members speak.
It followed a protest outside Forster Council Chambers.
“We have lost the councilors and mayors from three different councils for some 15 months and they’ve been replaced by a politically appointed administrator.”
Administrator John Turner initially adjourned the meeting for 15 minutes, but was unable to continue due to the protests.
