FATAL CRASH ON THE NSW MID-NORTH COAST

A 48-year-old man has died overnight, following a head-on collision on the state’s Mid-North Coast.
Around 6:20pm, emergency services were called to a roadworks zone on the Pacific Highway at Telegraph Point, south of Kempsey.
Both drivers were trapped in their vehicles for some time before being released.
The 48-year-old man was taken to Port Macquarie Hospital but later died from his injuries.
The 62-year-old driver of the other vehice was transported to John Hunter Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers.
