As many as 600 residents around Taree have been ordered to evacuate their homes as water levels continue to rise.
Residents in Taree West, Taree North, Chatham, Browns Creek and Dawson River Caravan Park are affected.
Evacuation areas have been established at Taree PCYC and Taree High School.
While major flooding is expected at Kempsey, when the Macleay River peaks at 6.6 metres.
400 locals have been evacuated there.
